Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

SDG-01: End poverty in all its forms everywhere:

ANTAR’s Savings and Micro Finance Program (AMFP) among others has been addressing this goal through all its branches across the country. ANTAR’s Enterprise Development Training, Agricultural Training including live stock & poultry, Vocational & Skill Development training for its members are also directly contributing to this goal.

SDG-02: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

ANTAR’s Savings and Micro Finance Program (AMFP), Agriculture Development Program including agriculture training, seed distribution, plantation and marketing etc., emergency relief & rehabilitation have been addressing this goal through all its branches across the country.

SDG-03: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

The government of Bangladesh has been working in fulfillment of this goal. However, as a development organization, ANTAR supplements and complements the government efforts towards achievement of this goal. ANTAR primary health care, sanitation and health awareness program for mothers, children and old age people are directly contributing to achieving the goal.

SDG-04: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote life-long learning opportunities for all

The government of Bangladesh has been working in fulfillment of this goal. ANTAR as a development organization has been trying to supplement this goal through its Savings and Micro Finance Program, schooling program and ENRICH project. However, as a development organization, ANTAR with its all other development initiatives like training, capital supply & schooling etc. supplements and complements the government efforts towards achievement of this goal.

SDG-05: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

This goal is addressed by different programs of ANTAR specially those of Savings and Micro Finance Program, different social development programs and Gender equality and diversity action of ANTAR. ANTAR has programs to stop gender violation through empowering women by supporting with capital for their enterprises, training for skill development and through awareness building on gender equality.

SDG-06: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

The government of Bangladesh has been working in achievement of this goal. ANTAR has in fact tiny scope to contribute to achieve the goal. Nonetheless, as a development organization, ANTAR always committed to supplement and complement the government efforts towards achievement of this goal. ANTAR is also implementing Solar Home Systems in non grid areas.

SDG-07: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all

The government of Bangladesh has been working in achievement of this goal. ANTAR has in fact tiny scope to contribute to achieve the goal. Nonetheless, as a development organization, ANTAR always committed to supplement and complement the government efforts towards achievement of this goal. ANTAR is also implementing Solar Home Systems in non grid areas

SDG-08: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

The government of Bangladesh has been working hard in achieving this goal. Nonetheless, as a development organization, ANTAR tries to supplement and complement the government efforts towards achievement of this goal by implementing Micro Finance Program, Enterprise training, capital Supply, savings generation and marketing of products produced by the members.

SDG-09: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

The government of Bangladesh has been working in fulfillment of this goal. However, as a development organization, ANTAR supplements and complements the government efforts towards achievement of this goal.

SDG-10: Reduce inequality within and among countries

The government of Bangladesh has been working in pursuance of this goal. ANTAR is committed to and fully supports any Government initiatives in this regard.

SDG-11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

The government of Bangladesh has been working in achievement of this goal. ANTAR is also working with slum dwellers. Supporting improve their dwelling, houses in cities, health & overall employment and income generation of poorer inhabitants of cities in ANTAR working area.

SDG-12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

The government of Bangladesh has been working in fulfillment of this goal. However, as a development organization, ANTAR supplements and complements the government efforts towards achievement of this goal. Particularly in agriculture ANTAR is working on agricultural diversity and improve production pattern particularly in agriculture sector.

SDG-13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

ANTAR is contributing to this goal by implementing ENRICH project in different climate vulnerable pockets of Bangladesh. This initiative has components like tree plantation, safe drinking water, environment friendly agriculture etc. Climate change awareness is also a focus of ANTAR.

SDG-14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

The government of Bangladesh has been working in achievement of this goal. ANTAR has full commitment to play its role as required to support the government initiatives in this regard.

SDG-15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

The government of Bangladesh has been working hard in attainment of this goal. ANTAR is promoting tree plantation program in the villages and homestead level along with Climate Change awareness among the villagers.

SDG-16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels

The government of Bangladesh has been working strongly to achieve this goal. However, as a development organization, ANTAR is committed to supplement and complement the government efforts as required towards achievement of this goal.

SDG-17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development

The government of Bangladesh has been working in attainment of this goal. ANTAR has full commitment and support to all Government initiatives in this regard.
