জনগণের জীবন মান উন্নয়ন ও মূল্যবোধ চর্চারত একটি প্রগতিশীল ইতিবাচক সমাজ গঠনের জন্য এসডিজি এবং সরকারের অগ্রাধিকার বিবেচনায় রেখে সরকারী-বেসরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান সমূহের সাথে সমন্বয়ের মাধ্যমে সক্ষমতা ও দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধি, তথ্য ও তথ্য প্রযুক্তি এবং প্রয়োজনীয় আর্থিক ও অনার্থিক সেবা বাস্তবায়ন করা।
In line with SDGs and priority of the Government, ANTAR will work on capacity building and skill development, information and information technology and other necessary financial and non-financial services for the people in collaboration with Governmental and Non- Governmental Institutions with an aim to improve livelihood standards and a peaceful dynamic society practicing social values.

ANTAR - GOAL

The goal of ANTAR is to establish a right based society through sustainable socio-economic development of the target participants specially the children, women and other disadvantaged groups and thus help them in attaining a dignified livelihood in the family and the society as a whole.

ANTAR - OBJECTIVES

  • To improve socio economic status of disadvantaged people;
  • To organize women and build their capacity for empowerment;
  • To organize increase awareness of children, parents and community people to reduce child labor, child abuse, child trafficking and violation of child rights;
  • To mobilize community people including parents, children, community people & duty bearers for playing positive role to establish human rights, child rights and women rights;
  • To develop a society & economically vibrant and fit community through education and skill development;
  • To enhance capacity of the children, youth, women, men, NGOs and other stakeholders and develop different modules & guidelines for strengthening cooperation & coordination among themselves for reducing socio economic vulnerability of people;
  • To act as information center for sharing and exchanging information and services among individuals, groups and institutions working on human rights and dignity;
  • To design training materials for working with the poor children, women and people with special needs with a view to reduce exploitation, enhance recognition, improve status and ensure safe working condition;

ANTAR - TARGET PARTICIPANTS

Poorer sections of the society are the primary target group of ANTAR. As a process ANTAR works with all stakeholders in the society. These are as follows:

  • The children particularly the marginalized children who are prone to child rights violation;
  • Youths
  • Disadvantaged women and men;
  • Religious Leaders;
  • Parents of the participating children;
  • School teachers;
  • UP Chairman & Member and people’s representative in general;

ANTAR has a team of 197 (Male – 135 and Female – 62) regular staff members who are working with its development projects. In addition to the full time staff lots of volunteers have also been involved with ANTAR. The present staff members are competent and have experience in various fields of development. They have acquired skill through training and practical involvement. Moreover they are much committed to carry forward their responsibilities. ANTAR management is giving preference on team spirit of work. Staff members represent ANTAR in various forums and share views and experiences and also keep continuous and purposeful contact with the target group.

ANTAR - GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE

ANTAR at present has been working in 8 districts through its development programs. The names of the covered districts are Dhaka, Narayangonj, Munshigonj, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Chattogram & Cox’s Bazar. It plans gradually expand its operation to other selected areas of the country. ANTAR observes that it is necessary to demonstrate its presence both at the center and the grassroots to promote rights based approach and establish human rights. It is also important to join together hands of various stakeholders including NGOs to realize human rights in the country.

Mr. Md. Emranul Huq Chowdhury

ANTAR has an eighteen member general body, which is the supreme policy maker of the organization. The General Body meets once in a year in the form of Annual General Meeting (AGM). Generally the General Body in every of its AGM discusses and approves the performance report and the audit report of the previous year; budget and work plan for the next year. The General Body in turns elects a seven member executive body for three years terms, which guides the policy implementation of the organization. The Board of Directors meets on regular basis and takes executive decisions as per constitutional provisions to help the management of the organization. Mr. Bhabotosh Nath is the Chairman and Mrs. Ummay Roman Akter is the Member Secretary and Executive Director of ANTAR. Mrs. Ummay Roman Akter is responsible for leading the ANTAR management.
